What do I get when I buy pixels? ▼
You get permanent ownership of your pixel space on the globe. Your artwork, link,
and description will be visible to everyone who visits ThePixelGlobe. You also receive
an embed code to showcase your pixels on your own website or social media profiles.
How long will my pixel stay visible? ▼
Forever — or at least as long as the internet exists! Your purchase is stored permanently
in our database. We are committed to keeping ThePixelGlobe online indefinitely.
All data is regularly backed up.
What happens when all 2.5 million pixels are sold? ▼
The globe becomes a complete, community-created artwork — a permanent digital monument.
The globe stays online as a historical artifact. Early buyers will have been part of
creating something unique.
How much does a pixel cost? ▼
Pricing is tiered based on total sales progress:
• Phase 1 (first 1,000,000 pixels): $1.00 per pixel
• Phase 2 (next 1,000,000): $2.00 per pixel
• Phase 3 (final 500,000): $5.00 per pixel
Premium colors (Gold, Silver) are always 2× the current phase price.
What payment methods are accepted? ▼
Currently we accept Bitcoin and Lightning Network payments via BTCPay Server.
Credit card and Apple Pay/Google Pay support is coming soon via Stripe integration.
Can I upload images or GIFs? ▼
Yes! You can upload images and animated GIFs to place on the globe.
Images are mapped onto the hexagonal grid. GIF uploads have a frame-based
pricing multiplier. You can preview exactly how your image will look before purchasing.
Is there a referral/affiliate program? ▼
Yes! Share your unique referral link and earn 10% commission on every purchase
made through it. Check the Affiliate tab in the controls panel for your link
and earnings dashboard.

The Vision
In 2005, a student named Alex Tew created the Million Dollar Homepage — a simple grid
of 1,000,000 pixels that anyone could buy. It became an internet legend.
ThePixelGlobe takes that idea and reimagines it for the modern web: a beautiful,
interactive 3D globe made of 2,500,000 hexagonal pixels. Buy pixels, place your
art, claim your spot on Earth, and become part of a global digital artwork.
The Team
ThePixelGlobe is an independent project built by a small team of developers and
designers who believe in the power of community-created art. We're passionate about
the intersection of technology, art, and collective creativity.
Technology
Built with Three.js for stunning 3D rendering, Supabase for real-time data,
and BTCPay Server for secure, self-hosted cryptocurrency payments. No third-party
payment processors see your data.
ThePixelGlobe ("Service") provides a 3D interactive globe where users can purchase
hexagonal pixels to display artwork, images, text, and links. Each pixel represents
a unique position on the virtual globe.
2. Purchases
All pixel purchases are final and non-refundable. Prices are displayed in USD.
Payment is processed via BTCPay Server (Bitcoin/Lightning) or Stripe (cards).
Ownership of pixels grants the right to display content on the purchased cells.
3. Content & Moderation Policy
Users may not place content that is:
Illegal, harmful, threatening, or promoting terrorism
Sexually explicit, pornographic, or depicting minors
Promoting violence, hatred, discrimination, or harassment
Infringing on intellectual property rights (copyrights, trademarks)
Spam, phishing, malware-related, or linking to deceptive sites
Containing personal information of others without their consent
Impersonating other individuals, brands, or organizations
Promoting illegal gambling or unregulated financial products
Moderation Process: All pixel content is subject to review. We reserve the right
to remove content that violates these terms without refund. Repeated violations may result
in account suspension. Users can report inappropriate content via the report button on any artwork.
Appeals: If your content was removed and you believe this was in error,
contact support@thepixelglobe.com within 14 days for a review.
4. Service Availability
We commit to maintaining ThePixelGlobe online for a minimum of 10 years from launch.
All pixel data is regularly backed up. In the event of service discontinuation,
pixel data will be made available as a downloadable archive.
5. Limitation of Liability
ThePixelGlobe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable
for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for pixels.
6. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after
changes constitutes acceptance. Existing pixel purchases and their display are
always honored.

Payment Processing
Bitcoin payments are processed via our self-hosted BTCPay Server — no third-party
payment processor sees your data. Card payments are processed via Stripe with
